Moving On - Breaking Free From Homelessness
Our Project
Moving On – Breaking Free from Homelessness is a five-year project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Working directly with the Utility Street Men’s Hostel, its aims are to support residents to move from our emergency accommodation into their own independent accommodation.
Our Offer
Throughout the duration of the project, our aim is to equip residents with skills, knowledge and resources to support their opportunity to Move On and to support their physical and mental health.
- Workshops – to deliver skills for life: Cookery, Employability, Health and wellbeing
- Signposting – for knowledge for living: Benefits checks, housing availability, addiction support
- Resources – to start living independently: Starter packs, dignity packs, vouchers
- Support – to ensure person thrives: Regular check-ins, review of progress, peer mentoring
- Social – events and activities to build a network: Walking group, creative activities, sports
